Two TIs and Two Riyadhs – Team Spirit Win Esports World Cup 2025
Team Spirit have pulled off one of the most dominant tournament runs in recent history with a near-flawless journey to the Esports World Cup 2025 trophy. They took down Team Falcons 3-0 in the Grand Final with little to no issues.
The series was a total stomp in favor of Team Spirit. In the second map, Yatoro was handed a free Medusa game – a hero he has a 70% win rate on this year. In the decisive map, Team Falcons went all-in with an early-centric draft, hoping to win the laning stage. However, Team Spirit still outplayed them in the early game and took an easy win.
This victory marks Team Spirit’s second Riyadh Masters title, having won the iteration in 2023. Team Spirit dropped their opening map against Xtreme Gaming in their first match of the group stage, and since then, didn’t drop a single one until lifting the trophy. They swept all the competition and were clearly the best team at the event.
Though Team Spirit didn’t have the most successful 2025 season so far, they continue to show that they turn up when the stakes are the highest by winning one of the two premier tournaments in 2025, bagging $1,000,000.
Collapse was named the MVP of the tournament. He has been a stable pillar for the team, and made several game-changing plays like his double Aegis snatch against PARIVISION yesterday.
Before the grand final match, PARIVISION took down Tundra Esports 2-0 in the third-place decider match. The former went for a crazy draft in the second game, picking Pudge for No[o]ne- and Meepo for Satanic. Though the draft looked chaotic, they still won the game and closed the series. The squad will take home an additional $100,000 for their efforts.
The Esports World Cup 2025 was a $3,000,000 tournament taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 16 teams compete from July 8 to 19.
