The Riyadh Masters Play-in Stage Reaches Its Final Day
The first phase of the $5,000,000 Riyadh Masters 2024 tournament is reaching its conclusion, as only one day remains before we head into the Group Stage.
Group A
The three teams who have confirmed advancement to the Group Stage are Entity Gaming, Blacklist International, and surprisingly, beastcoast.
The top two teams faced off in a meaningless series, with Entity Gaming taking down their former teammate, Gabbi, in 2-0 fashion.
LGD Gaming and G2.iG drew their Best of 2 series and forced a tiebreaker between themselves for elimination. After a close three-map series and a comeback from LGD on the third map, shiro and the crew sent their Chinese brethren out of the tournament.
Virtus.pro and LGD Gaming will compete against the 4th-5th place finishers in the opposite group for spots in the Group Stage.
Group B
Results in Group B did not change much from the previous day. Heroic, PSG Quest, and Aurora will move on to the Group Stage.
Azure Ray could finally pick up their first victory throughout the tournament, but their horrendous 0-8 start meant they would still exit the tournament with a 1-9 record.
Nouns and MOUZ scraped past the first stage of the Play-ins, and will play against LGD Gaming and Virtus.pro for Group Stage slots.
The Play-in stage ends tomorrow, where the 4th-5th place finishers in each group will eliminate each other. After this phase is done, we’ll get to see the Play-in survivors compete against the top dogs in the Group Stage.
